As Instagram was at first, you were able to follow whoever you wanted and got to see the posts of all the accounts you follow based on time posted in chronological order. However, now Instagram has created an algorithm designed to rob accounts of the support of their viewers and give the activity only to more popular accounts along with accounts who want to pay for their activity. It adds a large amount of stress to an app that is supposed to be used for connections and fun - which is not so much anymore.

Have you ever checked your newsfeed and realized you never see posts from accounts you love to support? Out of common sense, if you follow a person you tend to want to see their posts. There are many small businesses on Instagram who are hit hard by this algorithm and we have decided we have had enough and want to take action on this block Instagram has created. Small businesses, organizations, creators, artists, musicians, along with other talented individuals and important organizations are all impacted as well as even for you reading this petition.

You have the power to help others even if you don't care to make a change for yourself. Small businesses are climbing an uphill battle to use a platform we used to love to use. It's become almost impossible to market ourselves (a main pillar of Instagram's mission) when the app will not even allow accounts that already chose to follow you to view.

Like many other small online businesses, I rely on Instagram to pay my bills as it is my only source of income. Just imagine working 70 hours a week in for your business just so a quarter of your followers can see it. A second of your time to sign could equal a sale we can make to survive and support our families.
