For Instagram and Twitter to release inactive usernames!

For Instagram and Twitter to release inactive usernames!
The Issue
I have made this petition to echo a problem many people have with both Instagram and Twitter, and my voice is one of many who have the same problem.
This problem is the issue of inactive usernames. As many of us have brands and are aware of the influence such major social networks like Instagram and Twitter have, it is important to be able to keep a uniformity and simplicity in usernames for customers to be able to find us across all social networks.
The problem is; countless brands can't claim their usernames on either Instagram or Twitter because they have been taken by an inactive user, a user who hasn't used their account for years now. And because Instagram and Twitter provide no simple means to claim such usernames, even with a trademark, it causes a major issue in both social networks and makes brands question whether either of them truly cares for their customers.
Furthermore, several celebrities have been able to claim inactive usernames solely because they had connections that worked at either Instagram or Twitter. This causes an unfair landscape for brands who don't have such connections, and this can thus drift brands away from using these social networks.
The simple solution to all this is to provide a means for brands to contact Instagram or Twitter and to claim inactive usernames which haven't been used for over 12-24 months. By doing so, brands will finally be able to thrive on these social networks and won't have to be worried about not being found by their customers and not reaching a wide enough audience.
To both Instagram and Twitter, please consider adding this feature. It would be be greatly appreciated by the community and will surely be a cause for praise.
