Whilst scrolling social media, particularly Instagram, I am constantly bombarded with ads for face and body modifying apps such as 'FaceTune' and 'RetouchMe Body Retouch & Face Editor' etc. I'll admit it, when I see these apps, I think, 'Oh, I'd quite like my eyes to be bigger, or my skin to be smoother, or my waist to be smaller...' It is very easy to be convinced that you are not pretty enough or skinny enough and that you need to use these apps in order to make you look 'perfect.' 

The reality is, there is no such thing as perfect. We are all beautiful, just as we are. What sort of world are we living in, telling people, young girls in particular, that they need to change the body they were born with to fit in to society's idea of 'beautiful'?! It has a negative impact on our confidence, our idea of body image and our mental health. 

This is why I wanted to start this petition to help ban these apps for good!! Social media giants, celebrities, you and I alike. We can help us to live in a world where we are proud to show off our freckles, our laughter lines, our acne scars etc. without social media telling us otherwise. These things make us who we are, and we should love every single inch of our bodies.
