Insomniac events ban on gloving

The Issue

The people who host insomniac events have had a ban on gloving since 2011. The decision was made with the reasoning being that it hurts their ability to host events, and that their shows have many people giving shows in areas designed for dancing. They claim to have also hired a "get up and dance" crew as they call it, which is a crew of people who try to get people who sit down at these events to stand up, making gloving almost impossible. They hired these people before the ban.

A while ago, I saw an advertisement for something people were calling a flow garden, which was essentially a place designed for people who like light shows, and for flow artists to trade shows and to entertain people. When I go to shows, I don't enjoy going for the "dancing" because gloving -IS- my form of dance, and I'm not alone. This is among just one example of ways to get "sitters" out of the dancing areas and put somewhere they feel they belong, as well as make everyone happy.

There is absolutely no reason to have a ban on gloving as a whole, as it not only is an art form, but is a huge reason people come to these events in the first place. I have been turned off to insomniac events because of this ban alone, and seeing the way others are being treated when even just finger dancing without any gloves on.

We don't deserve this treatment, and there are much better ways to get glovers out of the way, than taking away peoples freedoms to have lights attached to their fingers, and putting people in headlocks and forcibly taking their property from them, even if the item is banned.

I'm not here to say insomniac is wrong. I'm not here to say nothing they are doing is right either. I'm simply making this petition because the treatment of their festival goers (who oftentimes pay thousands to go to just one of their shows) is an abomination at best, and these problems are much easier to solve without stealing people's property, and taking away some people's ability to have fun at a place that was designed for fun to be had.
