Almost every teenager today knows of the popular game Among Us. As a matter of fact, if I asked all of my friends right now if they have played and/or heard of the game, they would say yes. I guess this doesn’t really say much since I have about five friends. Regardless, it’s a game that is just booming among Gen Z at this point in time.

Among Us has an online option when you open the game to allow you an experience of murder mystery among countless others who are also searching for random people to play with. Sometimes when playing these games with randoms, we have great conversations with them and really become best friends. Unfortunately, when the game ends, that’s it. You never see them again and you couldn’t even exchange social media usernames because of the fact that the chat is public to all players in the party. I hope to change this. 

About a week ago, I played an amazing game with two other gamers and we immediately bonded. We encouraged each other, laughed with each other, cried with each other, and just truly lived in the moment. After an hour of playing, the game booted me out (as everyone knows it sometimes does) and I never saw their name tags in another game again. This awful tragedy is just one example of the excruciating misery some of us players go through when there is no add friend button.

Now that you’ve heard me, and the voices of countless others, please consider signing this petition to bring it to the attention of the InnerSloth developers! An Among Us add friend button would be the best update that has happened since the minecraftxsmashbros collaboration.
