Support Precinct 75 Markets at St Peter's NSW

This petition had 107 supporters

The St Peter's community comprises of a number of well-known and talented local artists, creators, makers and merchants, many of them work within Precinct 75 located at 75 Mary Street, St Peters, NSW 2044.

The Precinct 75 Markets were created to connect and support like minded and emerging makers and merchants to an enthusiastic local crowd; throwing a spotlight on this vibrant and dynamic hub.

A select number of residents have voiced their concerns over a lack of parking on site which has subsequently led to the closure of the markets. There are many markets across Sydney that successfully operate in established suburbs with little or no public parking (Glebe, Bondi and Balmain to name a few). Whilst the markets have historically attracted local pedestrian visitors, Precinct 75 is strategically located between two major heavy rail stations being St Peters and Sydenham Stations, both a 5 minute walk. Furthermore, Precinct 75 encourages alternate modes of transport with numerous bicycle racks installed around the site.

A new Development Application (DA 201600217) has recently been lodged with Inner West Council that seeks to address traffic concerns from residents by reducing number of stalls and frequency of the markets.  We now need your help to get it over the line.

If you:

·      Value St Peters as a cultural inner-west hub

·      Support the arts

·      Support local trade

·      Support makers and merchants

·      Want to encourage spending within the local economy

·      Support this successful mixed use inner city hub
