I am part of a diverse, multipartisan group that opposes the current conditions under our existing government. Passionate about our Republic, we uphold the belief that a government should serve all its citizens, not just those who hold power or wealth. We see the beauty in a free Republic that works for everyone, irrespective of their fiscal prowess. On grounds of our convictions, we are initiating a form of civil disobedience - a boycott of all purchases for all day on 2/28/2025. 

Such economic protests have been successful in the past. The Montgomery Bus Boycott (1955-1956), a social and political campaign against racial segregation on the public transit system, led to a Supreme Court ruling that segregation on public buses was unconstitutional. Bloomberg reports that boycotts can reduce a target's stock price by as much as 0.6% (Bloomberg, 2017).

Our non-violent boycott aims to bring a similar impactful change, by pressuring our government to reconsider its approach to its citizens, and adopt policies that are more inclusive and fair. We urge you to lend your voice to our campaign, and contribute to the reformation of our Republic. This is our chance to rally for justice and equality. Our Economic Blackout 
As our first initial act, we turn it off. 

For one day, we show them who really holds the power.

WHEN:
Friday, February 28th from 12:00 AM to 11:59 PM

WHAT NOT TO DO:

• Do not make any purchases
• Do not shop on-line, or in-store
• No Amazon, No Walmart, No Best Buy, Nowhere!
• Do not spend money on:
  • Fast Food
  • Gas Major Retailers
  • Do not use credit or debit cards for non-essential spending

HOW TO PREPARE 
If you have particular needs, start stocking up now or the week before.

WHAT YOU CAN DO:
Only buy essentials of absolutely necessary (Food, Medicine, Emergency Supplies)
If you must spend, ONLY support small, local businesses.

SPREAD THE MESSAGE
Talk about it, post about it, and document your actions that day! Then report back to us if you were able to do it and how it went for you.

WHY THIS MATTERS!
Corporations and banks only care about their bottom line.
If we disrupt the economy for just ONE day, it sends a powerful message.
If they don't listen (they won't) we make the next blackout longer (We will)
