As a Lebanese national residing in Portugal, I have a need similar to everyone in the growing Lebanese community in this country. Our connection to our homeland is strong, and we yearn for more efficient ways to maintain this bond. Currently, there are no direct flights between Lisbon and Beirut which makes traveling cumbersome, time-consuming, and expensive.

The lack of direct flights not only affects the Lebanese community but also limits tourism opportunities between these two vibrant cities. According to Eurostat data from 2019, Portugal welcomed over 24 million tourists while Lebanon saw an influx of approximately 2 million visitors (Eurostat). The initiation of a direct flight route would undoubtedly boost these numbers by providing easier access for tourists on both sides.

Moreover, establishing a direct flight route could foster stronger economic ties between Lebanon and Portugal. This would facilitate business transactions and encourage investment opportunities in both countries.

Given the strategic location, Portugal is the best option for the Brazilian-Lebanese community who is eager for better connections between their countries!!! 

We urge the competent authorities to consider initiating a direct flight route between Lisbon and Beirut. It's not just about convenience; it's about fostering connections - personal ones for residents like me who have family back home; cultural ones for those interested in exploring new places; economic ones that can benefit both nations.
