The recent promo of the upcoming show "Naati pinky ki lambi Love story" disturbed me. Not just the adjective attached with Pinky is demeaning, but the show's promo made fun of a serious issue like 'Dwarfism'.

We in India have not stopped calling out names to peope on the basis of their looks and appearances. This show's makers themselves have called out all the people suffering from dwarfism as "Naata" or "Naati". It will further lead to legitimising of name calling in the society either by Gori, kaali, lambi or NAATI.

We need to change the way Indian society thinks and this show is just pushing us back to the gloomy era. Television has the power to change people's mentality and this show with its sheer title demeans the people suffering with dwarfism and their families.

It's 2019 and we still are getting such regressive show titles. We need to empower our Specially enabled population, but sadly the Television shows being made are not ready for this revolution.
