The Issue

To those that are signing this petition and have friends and family that have already signed this petition, please spread the word that we have formed a grassroots movement called NoDataCenterCitrusCounty. We are growing in numbers, but need every resident to fight this fight.  If you and others would like to make a difference, please visit our website and become a member (no charge). We all need to come together to fight the rezoning of the Holder Industrial Park expansion to prevent a data center from being built.

Please log onto NoDataCenterCitrus.org  Thank you for your support.

WE ARE CITRUS COUNTY RESIDENTS who want to stop our Board Of County Commissioners from approving a MASSIVE DATA CENTER on 813 acres in Northern Citrus County Florida.

You’re receiving this message because you took the first step in signing the petition. Thank you!

The proposed location is near Lecanto Hwy & Hwy 41 and would deplete our natural resources, pollute the water, and add permanent noise & light pollution. The State of Florida has granted Citrus County $3 million to push this project through, advancing the agenda of majority landowners, Deltona Corporation. The small towns of Hernando & Holden (in Citrus County) will feel the greatest impact, but all of us residing in the Nature Coast area of Citrus County will suffer in the short and long term.

WE ARE THE NATURE COAST  a vast area of waterways, lakes, rivers and conservation lands. If you like the natural beauty and rural aspects of our county, then please join us in this fight! You have taken the first step so let’s keep the momentum going. Please do not stop there!

Here are action steps so you can continue to be heard.

• Join our group and become part of the grassroots movement to stop data centers from entering Citrus County.

• Connect with us to stay in the loop and know when important meetings and events take place.

• Attend meetings – wearing out Tshirts. Numbers matter when decision makers see people present!

• Become a member of this grassroots movement on our newly created website NoDataCenterCitrus.org (No charge to be a member)

• Consider financially supporting the effort through a donation to provide funds for signs, bumper stickers, tshirts, pins, etc.

Responded
Thank you for sharing the petition and comments with me. Because there is a pending quasi judicial zoning hearing, I cannot comment on the specific application. I appreciate you sending the petition and comments as I value hearing from the people I proudly serve. Thanks again, Diana Finegan Note: The Change.org Civic Engagement Team reaches out to decision makers to let them know about petitions in their community and to help facilitate engagement with supporters. The above was an email response we received regarding this petition.
