N Manhattan Ave 2-Way Protected Bike Lane

N Manhattan Ave is a busy corridor for vehicles, pedestrians, and cyclist. This project would create a 2-way protected bike lane on the west side of N Manhattan Ave, adjacent to campus. This lane would be separated by a concrete curb, to give physical protection from vehicles. Traffic and bike counts, along with crash data, show the need for a direct, safe, and quick connection between Aggieville and K-State, particularly for northbound bike traffic. The 2-way protected bike lane would remove the existing paint-separated bike lanes, and therefore remove many of the conflict points currently experienced by bikes and vehicles. The result would be a safe, convenient, and enjoyable corridor for all users.
