In Japan, infant formula can only be found in powders. Despite the big praise given to liquid formula bottles at time of quake disaster in Japan, after 3 years companies are still reluctant to start development. So let's let them know that our need is strong!
In Japan, infant formula can only be found in powders. This is because breast milk substitute defined in food hygiene law is quoted as "powdered" milk formula.
Liquid formula gained attention at the 3.11 disaster of earthquake and tsunami when mothers living aboard saved sheltered mums and their babies by sending donation of foreign made ready to feed milk and bottles. Mums were able to feed babies without cleansing/sterilising bottles or boiling clean water, both of which were incapable at shelters.
While majority of the country still don't know about liquid formula, mothers around me are eager to have them launched in Japan, especially the ready to feed bottles with disposable teats that can be used for outings and most importantly be stocked as emergency supplies.
There should be more voices like ours, so l would like to bundle these opinions and bring them to infant formula companies. I believe a massive voice can move companies to push the government to update their regulation.
Please join me in making a small request for a big big change in raising kids in Japan.
