INEC should extend duration for voters' registration till August ending.
The Issue
The 2023 general elections are crucial to every Nigerian at this point in time, in order to position themselves to make a much needed change that would rescue our country from becoming a failed state.
Unfortunately, a significant percentage of the electorate, specifically those located in the South South and Southeast, are experiencing immense difficulty when it comes to obtaining their Personal Voters Cards (PVCs) for numerous reasons, specifically as regards registration.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), recently announced the deadline for the closure of registration as June 30, 2022. Based on the popular feeling of potential disenfranchisement on the part of the electorate, I am calling on INEC to kindly extend the deadline for registration to August 31, 2022. This would go a long way in giving every Nigerian who is of age, a sense of inclusivity and security.
Thank you very much.
