To the Disney Organization:

We, the undersigned, call upon the Disney Organization to take action in recognizing the career achievements and impact on the Disney Legacy of Disney Artist, Don "Ducky" Williams by inducting him into the Disney Legends Hall of Fame. 

   Walt Disney once said, “You can dream, create, design and build the most wonderful place in the world, but it requires people to make the dream a reality.” Mr. Williams, has been pivotal in making Walt's dream come true.

 Bob Iger, Chief Executive Officer of the Walt Disney Company said, “To be named a Disney Legend is the highest honor our company can bestow on anyone, reserved for those whose talent and achievements have earned them an enduring place in our history”. The Disney Legends program was specifically created to recognize individuals who have made an extraordinary and integral contribution to the Walt Disney Company. 

   Don worked for the Disney Organization for over 37 years. He has worn many hats during that time, including Senior Character Artist. He's contributed to thousands of projects at Disney over his career, pouring his talent, heart and soul into creating the characters we know and love and much more! His importance to the Disney Organization cannot be overstated. For over 20 years Don was the only artist in his department. 

   One of Ducky’s claims to fame, is his ability to draw all Disney characters and over 100 from memory, showcasing his deep connection to the Disney legacy. Don once said, “Drawing the characters is more than a job for me. It's a way of life. Like many people, I have been infatuated with the characters since I've been a child. The characters are more than drawings to me. They are living, breathing personalities and you've got to get that personality into your drawing. And the only way you can really project that personality of the characters is to really know the characters”.

   In 1999, Don received Disney's "Partners in Excellence" award, a testament to his exceptional contributions. It is a lifetime achievement award and the highest honor a cast member can achieve while working for the organization.

 From designing the iconic entrance arches at Walt Disney World to creating beloved artwork for Disney Cruise Line, Disney Vacation Club and the Disney Parks World wide, Don's influence is everywhere. His work encompasses everything from merchandise and publications, to ride and restaurant decoration leaving a lasting impact on countless guests all over the globe. Notably, he is also the signature of Mickey Mouse.

   Even in retirement, his passion for Disney continues through his work with Disney Cruise Line, Club 33 and EPCOT's Festival of the Arts. The Cruise line recently brought Mr. Williams back from retirement by popular demand. At his presentations on these recent cruises, Don has drawn many Disney characters before SRO crowds, a testament to his lasting appeal.    

  The Disney Legend Award is given to those individuals whose work has made a significant impact on the Disney legacy. If anyone deserves the honor of becoming a Disney Legend, it is this dedicated, talented, imaginative, and unpretentious man! His numerous accomplishments show the breath and scope of his commitment to Disney and it’s Legacy.

   It's time that recognition was bestowed upon Don "Ducky" Williams.
