Protect Rainforests from Palm Oil deforestation

Protect Rainforests from Palm Oil deforestation
The Issue
Palm oil is a commonly used product in half of household products and has lead to 27 million hectares being deforested for Palm Oil with most of this deforestation being in Indonesia and Malaysia . This has lead to a climate crisis with 3 times more CO2 being produced than traditional fossil fuels. Action must be taken to save the Rainforests now or we risk losing it forever.Cutting down 3 hectares of Rainforest in Indonesia releases 18,000 tons of CO2 emissions into the atmosphere. Not only does this pollute the atmosphere it impacts the Carbon cycle and results in the loss of habitat for many species such as the Orangutans,Sumatran Tigers and Sumatran Rhinos all of which are Critically endangered and face extinction unless immediate action is taken to preserve the rainforests of Indonesia.Palm Oil plantations must be stopped from spreading and preservation of the rainforests are crucial for the survival of the many species that rely on the rainforest as well as our own.
