The Issue

EVEN IF YOU AREN'T IN INDIANAPOLIS PUBLIC SCHOOLS, PLEASE CONSIDER SIGNING.

The Indianapolis Public School District doesn't allow teachers to use Google applications, Like Google Classroom. This makes it very hard for students to be happy while learning.

Our new system for classwork is Schoology, which makes it significantly harder to learn. It's cluttered, confusing, and is constantly down or glitching. A lot of the students agree that it would be much simpler if we could just use Google Classroom, which organizes content is easy-to-understand formatting.

We are asking Indianapolis Public Schools to grant teachers access to Google Classroom, for the happiness of Students, and School Staff.

We understand that you have a contract with Microsoft, and are worried about possible security issues. We also understand that we are already on Microsoft applications. We aren't asking to completely redo the system, we just want google classroom back.

One of the biggest priorities of Indianapolis Public Schools is that students are happy and healthy while learning. Most students aren't happy with our current learning situation, and a lot of IPS students have reported from struggling with school related depression or anxiety.

We, of course, understand that this isn't all the Microsoft's fault. Letting teachers use Google Classroom isn't a magical one-thing-fixes-all, but it is what the students and teachers think is the best thing for our school.
