Indiana Public Schools to Require Diversity Training

The Issue

I am petitioning the Indiana State Board of Education to require "Diversity Training" aimed at students during their time in middle school. This would cover the many diverse races, ethnicities, and religions that are within the United States. The main goal is to reduce implicit bias and discrimination. As well as teach students to work together effectively, despite their differences. I believe this age is a pinnacle learning point in understanding the positive aspects of our diversity. Teachers would be required to have training and be tested over the material. Therefore, they would be properly prepared on how to handle all situations and content to their students. Thus, this would not require an allocation of more teaching staff due to training being completed during "homeroom time". The only offset cost to schools could be potential supplies needed.
