Friends, the good news is that we are almost at 500 signatures--currently 464 as I am writing this. The not quite so good news is that we dropped from 145 signatures on Thursday to 50 yesterday and 32 so far today. If you are on social media, Facebook or Twitter, please share the petition with one friend or loved one you think would support this cause. Each one get one. Yesterday, I tweeted a number of national media and public figures using the hashtag #askPence. But as far I can see from searching twitter, I was the only person using the hashtag to promote Mr. Cooper's pardon. I am convinced now that Governor Pence is simply ignoring the Indiana Parole Board's unanimous pardon recommendation, so we need to find someone to ask him about it directly--hey, even at a campaign town hall meeting if it comes to it. Have a look at this article from July with a Twitter link at the top: http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/ct-mike-pence-pardon-request-met-20160721-story.html Can we get 20 people on twitter to tweet this Chicago Tribune article to these eight public and media figures: @geedee215, @CharlesMBlow, @NoahRemnick, @GovPenceIN, @MarshallProj, @shaunking, @tanehisicoates, @lecrae, @shaneclaiborne. Remember to use the hashtag #askPence. I like the New York Times columnist Charles Blow, but yesterday, I watched him engage in a public twitter feud with the actor James Wood. If one person tweets to Mr. Blow about Keith Cooper's pardon, he can ignore it. If 20 people tweet him about Keith Cooper's pardon, I'll bet he notices it. And wouldn't it help to have him discuss this pardon in a Facebook post or a New York Times column? Thank you for all that you are doing for Keith Cooper. If you pray, remember to pray for his pardon. And if you have questions or comments for me, you may reach me at jheller@huntington.edu
