Submitted Before,

Shri Narendra Damodardasji Modi, Hon'ble Prime Minister of India

Shri Piyush Ji Goyal, Hon'ble Minister of Railways

Shri Babul Supriyo, Hon'ble Minister of State for Environment, Forest and Climate Change, in the Union Council of Ministers and Member of Parliament from Asansol.

Respected Sir's,

We are the migrant population of Sitarampur, Neamatpur, Chinakuri, Milakola, Samdi, Radhanagar Hatiya, Mithani, Bejdi, Parbelia Colliery, Patmohana Colliery, Sodepur Colliery (population of 10 wards of Asansol Corporation and Kulti Assembly) and other parts of India residing in & around Sitarampur Junction Railway Station.
Sitarampur is a neighbourhood in Asansol of Paschim Bardhaman district in the Indian state of West Bengal. It is governed by Asansol Municipal Corporation It was one of the early hubs of coal mining activity. Coal was found in abundance around Sitarampur in the early years of the 19th century and mining started at this place in a big way.
Sitarampur is mainly a coal-mining centre, Many people of above mentioned area works in the various Coal Mines of Eastern Coalfields Limited. Some People also work in the Office of the Directorate General of Mines Safety, Mines Rescue Office, Sitarampur Head Post office and in the Indian Railways. Most of the people in the town are involved in Medium scale industry and wholesale Business or the other. Nearest police station is Neamatpur Investigation Centre under KULTI POLICE STATION.
As movement of coal by trains increased considerably a new railway line, the Grand Chord, was laid from Sitarampur to Pandit Din Dayal Upadhyay Junction. At that time, Sitarampur railway station boasted of the largest steam locomotive shed and the second largest coal moving yard in the country. Now the steam loco shed is gone as steam engines were phased out.
The Howrah-Delhi rail track separates into the Main and Grand Chord lines at Sitarampur Junction and rejoins at Pandit Din Dayal Upadhyay Junction.
At Present, Sitarampur railway junction station have large coal yard and connected with Barabani Railway Line and Andal junction station to handle large movement of passengers and coal. Apart from this large number of passenger travel from Dhanbad junction (Grand Chord line) to Jasidih Junction (Main Chord line) by changing the train from Sitarampur Junction.
Also, Sitarampur station consist of 5 numbers of platform with facilities like – waiting hall, male female separate toilets, sitting chair with proper shed, foot over bridge, reservation and general ticket counter, RPF POST & GRPF IC, automated signal line, canteen services, sufficient parking space, 24 hours booking counter and 10AM to 8PM PRS counter etc.
People of this locality enjoy all the above-mentioned facility but to travel through EXPRESS TRAIN people have to go to Asansol railway station to catch the train, meanwhile they face lots of problem due to unavailability of public transport during late hours and early morning. Sometimes with kids and elderly people accompanying us, we face lot of hardships in reaching the railway station of Asansol Junction. Many a time, due to difficulty in reaching railway station, we are forced to depend on buses and private vehicles and fall victim to exploitation of private vehicle operators. Also, during the daytime lots of traffic problem are faced by the people to reach the Asansol railway station due to which they lose to catch the train on time.
EXPRESS TRAIN Stoppage at Sitarampur Junction will be a blessing for all residents from above mentioned areas, No need to depend on Asansol railway station for any interstate travel.
Since in you we see a hope for change we approach you with a humble request to provide a 2 minute 'STOPPAGE IN SITARAMPUR JUNCTION (STN)' for below mentioned trains which will not only be a great relief to the resident and business community living in and around this area but also would contribute in a big way towards decongesting the traffic
We humbly request you to approve two-minute stoppage of below trains at SITARAMPUR JUNCTION RAILWAY STATION to improve the life of the common people.
