Dear Supporters,
After almost a month, I see a ray of hope for justice for my son Kartik, and I would like to extend my heartfelt gratitude to all of you who have signed my petition. I would like to thank Ms. Apoorva Srivastava, India's Consul General in Toronto, for enabling access to legal assistance which is being offered by the Canadian government and assuring accommodation for me and my family when we arrive in Canada. Spread the news so that more people support our cause of justice for our son.
Our voices together have ensured that my family and I go to Canada and see for ourselves how the investigations into Kartik's untimely death are being carried out. This strengthens my faith in ‘people power’ and shows how much of a difference collective action through an online petition can make. I don’t know how long it would have taken for me to get here if not for your support.
I still, however, have a huge bank loan to pay off. I had mortgaged my house to send Kartik to Canada to fulfil his dreams. I have written a letter to Mrs. Nirmala Sitharaman, Minister of Finance, Government of India, requesting her to waive off this loan. Former Health Minister, Dr Harsh Vardhan has also written to her, requesting to do the same. Therefore I request you all to share this petition with all your contacts so that we can reach 1 lakh signatures and convince the government to take this financial burden off my chest.
You have helped me get this far, please support me and my family in getting the justice we deserve.
Yours Gratefully
Jitesh Vasudev,
Kartik’s Father
