It is evident to become aatmanirbhar, we need to promote locally manufactured product. As we are moving ahead in this digital era our dependence on ecommerce is growing exponentially.

However, one difficulty we always face as a citizen of India in promoting local products is while buying items from ecommerce portals where there is no mention of make of product in product description.

Due to this we unknowingly buy products manufactured in other countries and being sold in India. Even when we have urge and economic capability to buy local.

Through this petition i would like to request Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology of India and Honourable Cabinet minister Shri Ravi Shankar Prasad Ji to make it mandatory for ecommerce players in India to describe "make of product" and make it clearly visible for customers so that they can choose wisely and promote local manufacturers.
