According to the Times of India oct 11 2017 report ,India is now home to the world's largest number of blind people. Of the 37 million people across the globe who are blind, over 15 million are from India. Most of the visually impaired people require help to perform the most basic of tasks like consumption of the right medication or picking the toothpaste instead of the rat poison tube. Making braille script compulsory in everyday products like toiletries, canned food, first aid and most importantly on the packaging of medications must be brought under light. Having braille scripts on the products will reduce confusions and the chances of unintentional poisoning which could even cost lives.

Getting braille inscriptions on products is not a difficult process for the manufacturing companies. Very few companies in our country are using  using braille on their products.

Bringing braille into the market is also going to encourage more people to learn the script.

(Braille is a tactile writing system used by people who are visually impaired. It is traditionally written with embossed paper.)

Its time we open our eyes to the needs of the other 15 million people of our country.
