Currently in India, women with disabilities are facing a high risk of sexual abuse due to the fact that they’re seen as easy targets. For instance, if a women is deaf, she can't hear when someone is coming up behind her, or if she has an intellectual/physical disability, she might not be aware of what's happening to her. In light of these issues, the government isn’t doing much. As each day goes on and on, more and more women with disabilities keep getting sexually abused. Simple things such as reporting the crime, or going to the hospital is a challenge for them. Often times, when it’s reported to the police, they aren’t taken seriously; thus, leading officers to blame them for the abuse. There hasn’t been any recent action to address the issues, however, this needs to change. Women with disabilities deserve to be heard without having to feel humiliated. They deserve the same rights as everyone else, but most importantly, they deserve justice. Let's all sign against the sexual abuse towards women with disabilities, and instead sign for these women to get the justice they deserve!
