We support CAA. Let the truth come out!

The Issue

Support the fight against false propaganda disturbing the peace and brotherhood in India!

The Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) was passed in the 'Temple of Democracy' a few days ago with a thumping majority. MPs from across the party lines supported the bill after a detailed dialogue and debate. The Act provides an opportunity for persecuted minority communities of Hindu, Jain, Sikh, Buddha, Parsi, and Christians from Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Afghanistan to get Indian citizenship.

India has always stood against religious persecution. CAA is fulfilling a long-standing promise to the nation; starting in 1947, Mahatma Gandhi promised that, Hindus who are willing to come back to India are always welcome, in 1950 Nehru-Liyaquat Pact talked about minorities protection in the respective nation (which Pakistan failed to fulfill), later in 1971, Smt. Indira Gandhi promised NRC and citizenship to Bangladeshi refugees and in 1985, Shri Rajeev Gandhi promised protection of culture & identity of the Assamese under Assam Accord, even in 2003 Shri Manmohan Singh (then Prime Minister) in Parliament expressed the need to give citizenship to these refugees. All these promises were never fulfilled by the successive governments.

Let us not fall into the trap of those people who are spreading false rumors about CAA. It is a law that will provide citizenship to refugees and has nothing to do with the existing Indian citizens. It's about giving citizenship to persecuted refugees. There is no relation with NPR (National Population Register) and provisions of NRC which is a court-monitored process. Let's spread the power of truth!

Let us all sign a petition in support of CAB and strengthen the power of democracy and truth!
