Independent cat rescuers deserve to be paid for the hard work we do in the streets of NYC!
The Issue
BESIDES NOT BEING ABLE TO GET APPOINTMENTS FOR THE ASPCA THEY ARE CLOSING ANOTHER FACILITY IN QUEENS!!!! WHATS GOING ON WE ARE SUFFOCATING AND STRESSED OUT OVER THE CURRENT CAT POPULATION!!! YOU CAN HELP BY SIGNING OUR PETITION!!!!
Independent trappers should be paid a stipend and an allowance, and we should also be able to put in for grants. There are millions of cats on the streets of New York City with limited help. In the eight years that I have been doing this, not once have I ever gotten help from the City of New York. It's always been people or independent rescuers! Independent rescues and nonprofits spend thousands and thousands of dollars a year on medical, on transport, on food and surgeries and care. Our resources are very limited, and I find it that New York City has the money to fund what we need. Why aren't they doing something about it? We have politicians on panels who say that they are animal lovers and who are willing to do anything, but nothing is done. We also have colony caretakers and people who feed colonies who spend close to $1000 a month alone on food which is not free. We deserve better for ourselves and for our animals. The mayor and the governor have no idea what it takes to help cats in the streets. We need to open their eyes to the situation that we're dealing with. Please sign this petition so we can show them that we need help. And that the animals of New York City deserve better. That goes for cats, dogs, horse carriages. We are their voices. We need for them to hear us.
