Increasing Filipino Nurse's Salary in the Philippines

Increasing Filipino Nurse's Salary in the Philippines
The Issue
Medical courses in the Philippines cost hundreds of thousands for four years. It would take fresh graduate Nurses a lot of years to get back that money if they were local Filipino nurses. That is why many Filipino nurses prefer to work abroad because of many reasons. Still, it is mostly because of the difference in the salary given abroad and in our own country. Working abroad will have better opportunities with higher wages but Filipino nurses in the Philippines are poorly paid with low benefits.
How much is the average salary of a Filipino nurse in the Philippines?
The average monthly salary of a registered nurse jobs in the Philippines ranges from ₱12,000/per month in private hospitals and ₱35,000/ per month for government-run institutions. It is also said that the monthly salary can be lower in areas outside of Metro Manila. Filipino nurses work overtime because of their understaffed problems, but overtime work is only paid for ₱50($0.88)/ an hour or not paid at all. In other countries, United States — the average salary of P193,083 ($3,800) per month, United Kingdom — around P116,397 (£1,662) per month and in Canada — at least P168,177 ($4,097) for entry-level. Increasing the salary of local Filipino nurses will solve our lack of nurse staff. More Filipino workers will encourage themselves to stay and work as a local.
