My name is Myles and I am a 5th grade student doing a project to raise the awareness of including more characters with disabilities and more characters with medium and low-incomes in animated films. Over the years animation studios like Disney, Pixar, BlueSky and DreamWorks have done a good job of improving the psychological effects on children and their views of different cultures.  They have also been taking this responsibility more seriously. However, there is still room for a lot improvement in the areas of characters who represent people with lower incomes as well as those that have mental and physical disabilities. If you think that these studios should represent this segment of our population more, then please sign my petition. I will then forward the results of my petition on to professors at The California Institute of the Arts and DigiPen Institute of Technology, two leading universities who educate students in the art of animation.  My hope is that these professors will send it on to their contacts at the animation studios as well as educate their students on this issue.
