Increase the Number of 142 Buses from Portmarnock to UCD Belfield

Increase the Number of 142 Buses from Portmarnock to UCD Belfield
The Issue
As a person who deeply values sustainability, I have long trusted Dublin Bus as a viable means of reducing my personal CO2 emissions. Regrettably, fellow residents of Holywell and I face barrier after barrier in our attempt to use public transportation. Week after week, we watch, disheartened, as the first 142 bus flashes past the 6310 stop. It is already too full to take on any additional passengers. The 41X is consistently no different, and the subsequent 142 bus picks up a scant few of the numerous commuters waiting at the stop.
For years, this frustration has been our shared morning routine, and despite the vocal concerns raised to Dublin Bus by numerous locals, no action has yet been taken. This is not just about reaching the city centre and University College Dublin (UCD) on time for a 9 am start - it also impinges on our choice to contribute positively to a more sustainable Dublin.
We require two additional services in the morning to allow us to reach UCD by 8:25 and 8:40, respectively. Many believe that these additions would serve to alleviate the strain on the currently scheduled services and provide a reliable option for all. Furthermore, a viable evening schedule from UCD to Portmarnock would facilitate adult evening education for low income households, reducing the current heavy reliance on the costly Swords Express.
We call on Dublin Bus to meaningfully review and improve the service of the 142 buses. Your signature on this petition can make a practical difference, promoting sustainability, adult education, and more reliable public transport for all. Please, lend us your support and sign this petition.
