The Issue

Jamaica is going through a crisis. The UK and Jamaica have a long history and as a commonwealth country, The UK can and should do more to help rebuild after this natural disaster.
The effects of hurricane Melissa have been catastrophic. Many Jamaicans live and work in the UK , serving and building the economy. Jamaica and Jamaicans contribute millions to the UK’s economy every year, therefore the UK government should extend its hand in solidarity with those who have lost their homes and the families of those who have lost their lives.

This is a petition for the UK government to provide £100 million in aid for the rebuilding and restoring of Jamaica and the Jamaican people.
Billions has been pledged for Ukraine and Millions for Israel. Therefore, to provide anything less than £100 million to support Jamaica is a great injustice for a people that have had a hand in building the economy of the UK and a history of vast contributions to the Great Britain.

I urge you to sign this petition in solidarity with the people of Jamaica, who deserve the support and funding to rebuild after this life changing disaster. We require 100,000 signatures minimum for parliament to take us seriously. This may seem like a lot , however, it is more than achievable, if we all pull together as one people. Please share this with your family and friends so we can gain enough signatures to put this forward to parliament.
