I have personally witnessed the extreme injustice towards animals. In the rural areas of India, abusing animals is common.  I happened to see a man harshly abusing his dog, which eventually resulted in the poor creature's death before we could do anything about it. This is not an isolated incident. Thousands of animals across India are abused.  This could have been anyone's pet. This could have been my dog, a lovable rescue. As heart-wrenching as this incident is, it is not isolated. ISPCC reports document numerous instances of animal abuse in India (ISPCC, 2020). What's even more appalling is that the deterrent for such horrific acts is only a paltry fine of 100₹. This needs to change! Animals are as much a part of this world as we are. It's high time we recognized their rights and treated them accordingly. Our demand is simple but crucial: The minimum fine for animal abuse in India should be raised to 10,000₹.
