As an avid dog lover and a resident of Redcliff, I have had my dogs since they were puppies. One of them was even born in my home. They are more than just pets; they are part of my family. However, the current law in our city limits each household to owning only two dogs.

This limit is not only restrictive for dog lovers like me but also doesn't align with the regulations in neighboring cities and provinces. For instance, our neighbor city allows up to three dogs per household while the provincial limit is six.

There's no denying that responsible pet ownership is crucial for community health and safety. Yet it's also essential to recognize that every responsible pet owner should have the right to decide how many pets they can adequately care for.

Increasing the dog ownership limit from two to three would bring us on par with our neighboring city and allow residents like me who can provide loving homes for more than two dogs without causing any nuisance or safety issues.
