Our school, Booker T Washington is facing a critical shortage of counselors, a situation that is negatively impacting the mental well-being and academic success of our students. Currently, we are struggling with only two counselors, each responsible for more than 400 students across two separate cohorts. This overwhelming ratio makes it increasingly difficult for students to schedule timely meetings and receive the necessary guidance and support.

Students, parents, and teachers are urged to join this cause to prioritize the mental and academic welfare of our children. Our students deserve the best chance for success, and by increasing the number of school counselors, we take a significant step in that direction. 

Not to mention the stress on the counselors having to deal with so my students on one hand and on the other they still have personal things needed to be taken care of. So this change has impacted both students and counselors.
