Increase the amount of EV Chargers at the University of La Verne

The Issue

I am a full-time student as well as an office assistant at the University of La Verne. Like many of my peers and colleagues, I rely on my electric vehicle to commute to and from university each day - a decision rooted in a commitment to sustainable living. However, the current number of EV chargers on campus is insufficient, causing inconvenience and deterring individuals from adopting more environment-friendly commuting options. This underserved necessity has the potential to impact our ability to succeed academically and professionally.

By expanding the availability of electric vehicle (EV) chargers, the University not only accommodates the needs of students, faculty, and staff, but it also inspires a larger community shift towards ecological responsibility. According to the International Energy Agency, global electric car deployment has been growing rapidly over the past ten years. This increasing demand underscores an urgent need for the expansion of charging facilities on our campus.

Implementation of this initiative would affirm the University of La Verne's commitment to sustainability, thereby enhancing the overall campus experience and lending greater support to those like myself, who depend upon these resources daily.

The expansion is more than a need; it's a recognition of the future we are moving towards. Together, with your signatures, we can convince the university to recognise and cater to this necessity. Please sign this petition and help us expand the availability of EV chargers on the University of La Verne's campus.
