Increase Tech Support at WVHS
The Issue
At Waubonsie Valley High School, many of us have faced the issue of our Chromebooks being extremely laggy and ineffective. Many of us have faced having apps such as Exam Login not work, or having our Chromebook not turn on, or having other applications not work as well. When students send their Chromebooks out for repairs, it can take months before they get them back, leaving them without the tools needed to complete their work. Additionally, the tech support team often lacks the knowledge to resolve more complex issues. Their usual solution is to recommend restarting the Chromebook, and if that doesn't work, they send it out for repairs—adding even more delays.
The Solution: increasing tech support. By increasing tech support, we could significantly improve the functionality of our Chromebooks and resolve issues more quickly, allowing students to use their devices more efficiently. A stronger tech support system could help eradicate problems with testing apps and reduce the waiting time for repairs. To improve support, the school could hire specialists dedicated to troubleshooting Chromebooks, provide additional training for librarians (who currently handle tech support), or even offer courses that teach students how to fix common issues themselves. These changes would create a more effective and responsive tech support system for all students.
