As a resident of Perham Down for many years, I've seen first-hand the recklessness with which many drivers navigate our estate. Often, delivery drivers deem it acceptable to speed down our roads and/or traverse them the wrong way!

It is not hugely obvious as to which roads are one-way, and which are not.

This has led to frequent confrontations with drivers and continuous obstructions on the road.

Our estate is not just a collection of houses, but a community, home to many young children. The current driving behaviours increase their risk of accident, robbing them of the safety they should otherwise enjoy in their own neighbourhood.

Additional and more visible road signs are an urgent necessity. Despite the current signage, its lack of visibility has rendered it ineffective in curbing the reckless driving behaviors.

According to a 2019 report by the World Health Organization, visible and adequately placed road signs can reduce road traffic accidents by an average of 30% (source: WHO).

We call upon Perham Management to take this situation seriously and implement adequate measures to protect its residents. We urge them to improve the visibility of current road signs, increase the number of road signs, and take appropriate enforcement actions on reckless drivers.
