Ford announces $16K pay bump for MPPs - that’s more than I survive on in a year!

Last week, Premier Ford revealed that his new majority government will include 43 parliamentary assistants, a role that comes with a $16,600 pay bump. This brings their total annual salary to $133,100.

You read that right: The Ontario government will give 43 MPPs a $16K raise — but expects those on ODSP to survive on just $14,028 per year. With a $133K salary, these MPPs make more individually than 8 people on ODSP put together.

Could anyone in the Ontario government survive on just $14K per year?

ODSP rates are an EMERGENCY and it’s a crucial time to keep the pressure on. As the movement to increase ODSP rates grows, more Ontarians are waking up to the injustice of ODSP rates and joining the call for change.

Support is growing and we need to work together to keep the pressure on! Ford is able to find the money to reward already well-paid MPPs. So why should we continue to be denied the funds needed for basic housing and food?
