Increase Indoor Pickleball Facilities and Dedicated Hours in Irving Recreation Centers

The Issue

As longtime members of the thriving Pickleball community in Irving, we recognize the need for better indoor facilities and more court time, specifically during evening hours. We use Pickleball as a means to stay fit, build community, and foster a love for this exciting game within newcomers. Despite its growing popularity and recognized health benefits, we struggle with limited court time and lack of facilities. We are voicing this need for more Pickleball courts at our local recreation centers and even a dedicated 24x7 indoor facility, which would greatly support our goals. Did you know that Pickleball is among the fastest-growing sports in the United States and has recognized cardiovascular and coordination benefits (USAPA, 2018)? It's time our facilities caught up. If we had better access to play, this great game could reach more people, promote social interaction, and contribute positively to our community's well-being. We urge our decision-makers to recognize this need and act accordingly. Please sign this petition in support of expanding indoor Pickleball facilities and dedicating more court time (including Sundays) for its community in Irving.
