The Issue

I am writing this petition because of a deeply personal concern that affects so many women, including myself and women in my family, my circle of friends, and my social network. We have all suffered from issues related to our reproductive and hormonal health, specifically fibroids and the debilitating effects of perimenopause.
Despite the high incidence rate of these conditions among women, there is a noticeable lack of adequate research funding dedicated to understanding their causes and finding effective treatments.

If you are or care for a woman, PLEASE sign this petition!!!!

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), up to 80% of women will have fibroids by the time they reach age 50. Yet, despite these staggering numbers, there is still much we do not understand about why they occur or how best to treat them. Similarly with perimenopause - a condition that every woman will experience if she lives long enough - yet it remains under-researched and often misunderstood within our healthcare systems. This lack of knowledge can lead to misdiagnosis or inadequate treatment options for those suffering from its effects.

We are calling on policymakers and health organizations, specifically the National Institutes of Health/ Office of Research on Women's Health to allocate more funds towards research into women's reproductive and hormonal health. By doing so we can advance medical research, improve diagnosis accuracy, treatment options, and overall quality of life for our mothers, sisters, daughters – who deserve better understanding and care when it comes to their reproductive health..
