As a daily Calgary Transit user, I know firsthand the struggles that come with navigating our public transportation system in the cold winter months. The infrequency of trains paired with Calgary's often freezing winters places undue burden on commuters. Invest in efficiency, invest in us and above all, invest in safety. Ensuring that trains run frequently during the winter can make a vast difference for individuals traveling. The number of commuters using Calgary Transit is over 100,000 a day (Calgary Transit, 2019) and all of these users, like me, deserve better service in the cold months. 15+ min between trains when it it truly cold out is unacceptable, especially when more people take transit during the winter months. Increasing the frequency of trains during the winter can significantly ease this burden and provide a safer and more reliable mode of transport. Sign the petition to ask Calgary Transit to review the current train schedule and make changes to ensure more frequent trains during the winter months.
