Increase Centrelink Funding for Disabled Individuals

The issue

My name is Tessa Murphy, and I am a disabled individual reliant on Centrelink's assistance for everyday living expenses, such as buying food and paying bills. Regrettably, the current financial support provided by Centrelink is insufficient, causing undue hardships not only for me but for many others in similar situations.

Living with a disability presents unique challenges and often entails additional costs, which are not adequately covered by the present Centrelink funding. According to the Australian Institute of Health and Welfare, approximately 4.4 million Australians are living with disability. Many of these people, including myself, are solely reliant on Centrelink benefits and are struggling to make ends meet (AIHW, 2018).

This petition seeks to urge Centrelink to review our cases compassionately and consider a necessary increase in our funding. An increase in our financial support would alleviate some of the challenges that come with managing day-to-day expenses and would greatly improve our quality of life.

Being disabled should not equate to living in constant financial stress. By signing this petition, you are standing with us in our call for Centrelink to increase their funding for disabled individuals, helping us to lead lives of dignity and stability. Please sign and support our cause.

Dear Fellow Citizens,

Today, I write to draw your attention to an important issue that affects the lives of many individuals within our community – the financial struggles faced by people with disabilities. As compassionate and empathetic members of society, it is our responsibility to ensure that everyone has access to basic necessities and the means to live a dignified life.

Unfortunately, for many people living with disabilities, the current financial support available often falls short of covering their essential needs, including groceries and bills. This situation is unacceptable and must be addressed with urgency and resolve.

To this end, I urge you to join me in advocating for increased financial assistance for individuals with disabilities. By signing the accompanying petition, you will be lending your voice to a growing movement calling for greater support and recognition of the unique challenges faced by our disabled community members.

Together, we can make a meaningful difference in the lives of those who are often marginalized and overlooked. By standing in solidarity with our disabled friends, family, and neighbors, we can work towards creating a more inclusive and equitable society for all.

Thank you for your time and consideration, and I hope that you will join me in this crucial campaign.

Sincerely,

[tessa Murphy]
