INCREASE CANADA PENSION PLAN

The Issue

We, The Seniors Aid Society of Canada are calling on the Federal government to increase C.P.P for low income Seniors. This increase should be increased every year with the rate of inflation.

Yes, seniors get alot of tax breaks but the fact is a very small percentage actually quality. You must own a home. What happens when they don't own a home? That's right they do not qualify.

The average middle class working person from the 70's such as mechanics, factory workers, workers of average trade and laborers only receive around 1400.00 a month or less with no increase in years. That's not sufficient with increasing inflation at 7.1% and increasing national debt by the second.

Fact is some seniors who worked all  their lives don't live long enough to see their retirement.

How dose 1400.00 a month let a senior survive?

That's under 24,000.00$ poverty threshold at only 14 thousand a year. Very sad. Seniors can't afford to eat properly and 8.7% of seniors use for banks across Canada. Don't forget every year the poverty threshold is increased.

Please don't forget it's our seniors that BUILT our country made us who we are today and they deserve to live above the poverty line unfortunately about 19.9% of our seniors are living in poverty in Canada this should be a big red flag for all Canadians including our governments and the world.

Government's have created a divide over the years within our senior population by giving a $500.00  increase to those 75 and older that is called population subdivision, creating a subpopulation within the Seniors population across the country. This is inhumane in a 1st world country. WE call on an increase to all retired seniors on CPP and CPP disability to have a dignified life in the last years of their lives.

Let's help mend the divide within our senior population across our beautiful country and demand seniors live above the poverty line.
