Increase Available Soccer Field Resources in Hurricane/Putnam County, West Virginia

Increase Available Soccer Field Resources in Hurricane/Putnam County, West Virginia
The Issue
We are a dedicated 501c(3) Youth Soccer Organization, passionate about bringing the joy of soccer to our youth in Putnam County, West Virginia. However, we find ourselves challenged by the lack of soccer field resources available for our eager young players to use, learn, and grow in their chosen sport. Our community's commitment to encouraging physical health and team sports has been hampered by the inadequate availability of soccer fields.
Studies suggest that soccer is not just a game but an important developmental tool for children, fostering teamwork, improving physical health, and instilling discipline (source: American Academy of Child & Adolescent Psychiatry Journal, May 2018). Yet, our ability to provide these benefits is sorely limited due to our existing resources.
We, therefore, petition our local businesses, city, and municipalities, to recognize this need and provide more soccer field resources for our youth in Putnam County. We also encourage our fellow soccer organizations to join us in this needed effort.
Our organization alone attempts to provide over 400 players an environment to play soccer - which include Recreational Academy Soccer, Travel Competitive Soccer, and TOPSoccer (The Outreach Program for Soccer) - a recreational sports program for children and adults with intellectual, emotional, or physical disabilities offered only through local US Youth Soccer-affiliated soccer clubs.
Our request is a simple one - support in making more soccer fields available for our youth. The future of our community, the children of Hurricane and Putnam County, deserves to play, have fun, and grow healthily. Join us in this cause, empower our youth, and contribute to the betterment of Putnam County by signing this petition.
