INCREASE ATLANTIC IMMIGRATION PROGRAM ALLOCATIONS and reduce processing time

INCREASE ATLANTIC IMMIGRATION PROGRAM ALLOCATIONS and reduce processing time
The Issue
*Increase Atlantic Immigration Program (AIP) Allocations*
To: The Government of Canada
We, the undersigned, urge the Government of Canada to increase Atlantic Immigration Program (AIP) allocations to support economic growth, diversity, and community development in Atlantic Canada.
*Why it matters:*
- The AIP is a vital pathway for skilled workers and international graduates to settle in Atlantic Canada, addressing labour shortages and driving economic growth.
- Newcomers bring diverse perspectives, skills, and entrepreneurial spirit, enriching our communities and contributing to the region's prosperity.
We urge the Government of Canada to increase AIP allocations to support the growth and development of Atlantic Canada. Let's work together to build a vibrant and prosperous region that welcomes newcomers and celebrates diversity.

The immigration process is a challenging and often stressful journey for countless individuals and families seeking new beginnings. However, the current processing times for (AIP) through the immigration system are unreasonably long, stretching to an average of 37 months. This delay greatly affects the lives of applicants waiting for a decision, many of whom are in dire need of clarity concerning their future.
These prolonged processing times do not only stall plans and delay dreams but also create a significant impact on applicants’ economic survival and contribution. Many are unable to secure or extend work permits within this period, severely limiting their ability to support themselves and contribute positively to society.
A backlog of this magnitude can also lead to increased stress, anxiety, and uncertainty for applicants and their families, further complicating their settlement processes. These are hardworking individuals who are eager to start their new lives, contribute to their communities, and integrate effectively into society.
To improve this, we urge the relevant immigration authorities to take immediate action. Introducing more efficient processing procedures, increasing resources allocated to immigration services, and simplifying application requirements are crucial steps. These measures not only help alleviate the backlog but also ensure a more humane, efficient, and fair immigration process for all.
We ask everyone of conscience to support this petition in calling for improved efficiency in the AIP processing times. By signing this petition, you are helping to advocate for practical solutions that can transform lives and foster a more welcoming environment for newcomers. Please sign and share widely to amplify this important cause.
