The Issue

Animal cruelty is a significant issue in Wisconsin, with over 1,000 complaints reported annually according to the Humane Society of the United States. Despite these alarming numbers, the level of funding to combat and mitigate such issues is not enough. Existing resources are stretched too thin to efficiently address all of these concerns and, as a result, many animals continue to suffer unnecessarily. Furthermore, a study by Northeastern University and the Massachusetts SPCA discovered a significant correlation between animal cruelty and human violence, implying that funding animal welfare is not merely a matter of protecting animals, but also contributes to building safer human communities. We insist that Wisconsin legislators take immediate action to increase funding for animal welfare, thereby strengthening our fight against animal cruelty and making our state safer for all its inhabitants. Please sign this petition and demand Wisconsin legislatures increase the funding dedicated to animal welfare. Together, we can make a difference.
