Increase Alfredo pasta days at Berry College
The Issue
Throughout this academic year at Berry College, we, the student body, have encountered a culinary conundrum that affects our daily dining experience. The problem? An egregious lack of Alfredo in the dining hall's rotation. What we are met with instead is a steady stream of marinara – perfectly fine in moderation, but hardly the creamy delight that our palates crave.
Alfredo sauce is universally recognized for its rich and comforting flavor, providing a sense of solace during stressful study periods and a reprieve from the mundane. It’s more than just a meal; it’s a shared pleasure, a small piece of heaven in an often chaotic college life. Yet, the current dining schedule at Berry College ‘D-Hall’ scarcely allows for such simple joys.
Why does this matter? First, variety in our meals is not just a preference but a necessity. A diversified menu enhances student satisfaction and can actually contribute to better academic performance. Meals that cater to our varied tastes improve our mood, and there’s even evidence to suggest that such culinary pleasures impact overall student well-being. In fact, a survey conducted by the National Association of College and University Food Services found that 92% of students feel that having their favorite foods significantly improves their campus experience.
We recognize that planning dining hall menus involves budgeting and logistical constraints, but small changes can create impactful experiences. We propose a simple adjustment: increase the number of Alfredo days to at least twice a week. This modest change could easily be accommodated by reallocating some of the frequent marinara days, all while still maintaining a balanced menu.
Let us come together to make our voices heard, for the benefit of all current and future students who deserve not only nourishment but joy. We ask that Berry College administration, with particular attention from the dining services team, consider our request seriously.
Every signature on this petition is a call for a more fulfilling dining experience, encapsulating our desire for change and a celebration of diversity in our meals. Join us in bringing back the creamy goodness of Alfredo pasta to Berry D-Hall. Sign this petition today and help us make delicious dining memories!
