The issue

I, along with many others, struggle to find affordable housing as I and others like me are deemed ineligible for a housing a trust home and the affordable housing program. I and others earning within this bracket of $45,000 - $70,000,  is an income level the government often overlooks. We who fall within this range experience the brutal reality of the private rental market; an unsustainable and unaffordable situation that eats away a significant part of our income, sometimes reaching 60 -70%.

It's unjust that many of us are compelled to bear the costs of the government's oversight, as affordable housing seems to evade those who need it the most. No individual on a low income should be barred from affordable housing due to government ineptitude.

I have found with my research into this that half of all renters spend more than 30% of their income on housing, pushing them into the category of "cost-burdened".

We need a solution, and we need it now. We are urging the government to expand the access to affordable housing for those with an income ranging from $45,000 to $70,000. No one should have to decide between a roof over their heads or food on their table.
