Thank you to everyone who signed (117 in 3 days) , shared, promoted our petition, and sent over the video from the September 18th Fair Lawn BOE meeting.
I’ve never given a speech before, but in times like this we must speak up.
At the 1 hour 24 minute mark (for about 1–2 minutes), after hearing some board members state that Fair Lawn Schools will begin implementing an anti-hate policy that may include antisemitism, I asked the Board to include the federally recognized Jewish American Heritage Month (JAHM) in May in our schools’ curriculum — similar to what many school districts, such as NYC already have.
Teaching children about Jewish American heritage and history is one of the best ways to combat antisemitism.
Some parents supportive of this initiative have asked me to start the petition and post to local networks.
Please share with your family, friends, neigboors its QR Code (attached ) and the following link; https://www.change.org/p/incorporate-jewish-american-heritage-month-may-into-fair-lawn-schools-curriculum?f
Join us at next the next Fair Lawn BOE meeting Oct 30 7:30pm when we will be presenting it to the board.
