Today Arlington Public School bathrooms don’t have products to help girls with their menstrual cycles. We care about this because we are one of the many individuals who face this problem regularly and we would like for things to change. We believe that all girls and women deserve access to feminine products. This means that girls should not have to run to a locker and then run to the bathroom, only to be marked late. It means that, like soap and toilet paper, all girls bathrooms should be stocked with essential items that are needed. Many students today will tell you that school can be pretty stressful. Add to that the struggle of not only learning how to manage these hormonal changes but also having the products with you all the time, because if we are being real, we know that periods don’t always start at the perfect or ideal time. Many girls face accidents because there not always carrying there products with them and by the time we get to our lockers and then the bathroom the damage is already done. We should not have to worry about things like this, we should be able to focus on our studies without worrying what could happen if we don’t make it to the bathroom on time before the accident occurs.
Therefore we, the students of Gunston Middle School, ask for your help to bring this change.
