In 2025, when Marvel Studios revealed the names of actors who will appear in 'Avengers: Doomsday' on the back of the actors' chairs, they revealed the names of several of the actors from 20th Century Fox's original 'X-Men' film series, including Patrick Stewart as Professor X, Ian McKellen as Magneto, James Marsden as Cyclops, Kelsey Grammer as Beast, Alan Cumming as Nightcrawler, and Rebecca Romijn as Mystique, as well as Channing Tatum reprising his role as Gambit from 'Deadpool & Wolverine'.  However, none of the actresses from the actual X-Men team were revealed, including Halle Berry as Storm, Famke Janssen as Jean Grey, and Anna Paquin as Rogue.  Fans have waited for years to see Halle Berry, Famke Janssen and Anna Paquin reprise their roles, reunite with the X-Men cast members and wear their comic book accurate X-Men costumes on screen, since they will be portraying their X-Men characters from an alternate Earth.  To not have any of the female members of the X-Men team officially confirmed so far to return for 'Avengers: Doomsday', despite rumors that Halle Berry might return as Storm, has been disappointing and upsetting for X-Men fans.

In the case of Famke Janssen as Jean Grey, fans could finally see her romantically linked to and perhaps married to James Marsden's Cyclops and for her powers from the comics correctly portrayed.  For Halle Berry as Storm, fans could see Storm properly act like her comic book counterpart and to use her powers more accurately to the comics.  Storm's previous time as a member of the Avengers and her relationship and marriage to T'Challa/Black Panther from the comic books could also be explored in the film.  In the case of Anna Paquin as Rogue, if she is well enough to return as Rogue due to her recent health problems, fans hope to see her have the powers and memories of Carol Danvers (known as Ms. Marvel in the comics at the time Rogue took her powers and now known as Captain Marvel in the Marvel Cinematic Universe), to actually fly and fight on-screen, and have a romance with Channing Tatum as Gambit.  It would also be a great chance to have Rogue interact with Rebecca Romijn as her foster mother Mystique and Alan Cumming as Nightcrawler.

Since 'Avengers: Doomsday' is set to begin filming reshoots in early 2026 and 'Avengers: Secret Wars' will film after, we, the fans, would like to see Famke Janssen, Halle Berry and Anna Paquin among the actresses invited back to film scenes for 'Avengers: Doomsday'.  If they are not able to return for 'Avengers: Doomsday', then we, the fans, hope to see them invited back to return for the next film 'Avengers: Secret Wars' with the returning 'X-Men' cast members from 'Avengers: Doomsday'.
