Include Mini and Dwarf Goats in the Disability and Emotional Support Service Animal List Nationwide

Include Mini and Dwarf Goats in the Disability and Emotional Support Service Animal List Nationwide
The Issue
I am a survivor of childhood trauma, living with PTSD. My journey to recovery has been aided by an unlikely companion - a five-day-old baby goat that I saved. This goat, is trained as well as any dog, has been an invaluable emotional support animal for me.
Unfortunately, mini and dwarf goats are not recognized nationwide as disability service animals or emotional support animals. This means that many individuals like myself who find comfort and support in these creatures are denied the benefits they provide.
Goats are intelligent creatures capable of forming strong bonds with their human caretakers. They can be trained to perform tasks similar to those performed by dogs, such as fetching items or providing emotional comfort (American Miniature Goat Association). Their small size makes them suitable for urban living conditions where larger animals may not be permitted.
By excluding mini and dwarf goats from the list of recognized service animals, we deny people suffering from disabilities the opportunity to choose a companion that suits their needs best. It's time we change this.
Please sign this petition to include mini and dwarf goats on the disability service animal list nationwide!
